Veal is also popular here as is Pork and usually served "a la plancha" from the griddle, with various cream based sauces. Gazpacho of course is very popular in the warm summer months (But choose your restaurant carefully many places now just buy it from the local Mercadona supermarket, Chill it slightly and charge a fortune for it) ,Real gazpacho needs to be made the day before,chilled overnight and served with fresh finely chopped onions and peppers.Fresh salads and fruit are in abundance in this area and a very simple but delicious starter is freshly sliced tomatoes served with chopped garlic and covered with extra virgin olive oil. Manchego cheese Seved in triangles again with olive oil and Serrano ham, A cured ham left to hang can be found in many bars,this is served thinly sliced , as a rule the darker the colour the better the quality
.But not all the Torremolinos cuisine is traditional. The huge influx of foreigners to the town has left its culinary mark, and in the 250 or so restaurants in the municipality, one finds something good to eat from every continent.
