Trains from Torremolinos take just half an hour, are very cheap, and take you directly into the heart of the city. (Depart 18 & 48 min past. Return 00 & 30 min past) Within easy reach by car are the towns of Ronda (famous for panoramic views and Spain's first bull-ring) and Mijas (a pretty mountain-side village with sea-views). Along the coast lies Nerja, famous for its underground caves. Inland the famous ‘Golden Triangle' cities of Granada, Seville and Cordoba can be reached in a couple of hours by car on Spain's quiet motorways. These cities make an ideal ‘full-day' out. For families a real treat is a day at ‘Tivoli World' in Benalmadena Costa, lying between between Malaga and Fuengirola.
