Malaga bound planes from the UK diverted as electric storms hit the Costa del Sol
Flights from the UK, France and Holland were amongst those forced to land at Sevilla and Granada airports as severe electrical storms hit Malaga . The flights were forced to wait on the tarmac at Sevilla & Granada for several hours awaiting for a slot to complete their journeys. The diversions not only caused delays to flights arriving at Malaga but also leaving the airport. Aena has warned "check with their flight companies as there could be lengthy delays on many journeys".
